PRINCE GEORGE TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES HEAD TO LEGION NATIONALS

PRINCE GEORGE

15 year old Keiran Leboe of the Prince George Track and Field Club finished fifth in the hammer throw at the Legion Youth Canadian Track & Field Championships in Langley. It was his best showing at the Nationals. The BC Team member also finished 10th in the javelin and 11th in the discus. A number of other Prince George Track Club members also competed at the Legion Nationals including Ryan Gaiesky who cracked the top ten in the 100 metre hurdles finishing sixth.

In other results, 15 year old Emma Floris finished 17th in the midget girls 100 metre dash while 14 year old Lauren Matheson finished 19th in the same event. 14 year old Shelby Jansen was 20th in the 300 metre dash. 16 year old Alex Nemethy of Vanderhoof was 14th in the 2000 m steeplechase and 17th in the 3000 metre run and 16 year old Carlee Campbell was 12th in triple jump.

The event wraps up the outdoor track season. The Club’s awards barbecue is set for Sunday September 8th.
