Given that schools are not doing extracurricular programs, including Track and Field, and the Provincial Track Meet will still go ahead in June,  the PG Track Club is running a Qualification Mini-Meet in place of the normal two day NCD zone Meet.

When: Thursday May 17

Time: 5 pm till we are done.

Cost: $10 per athlete.

Categories: Senior and Grade 8/9 only.  You can only compete in one or the other.

Schedule: Basically there will be one  race/flight per event.  Field events will be run concurrently so don’t try to do more than two.  Track events will be run together unless there is a need for heats.  In this case the heats will be separated by age: Senior heat and Grade 8/9 heat.

As part of the Celebration of Sports Excellence Awards Banquet the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame also honours 12 young Prince George athletes with Youth Sports Excellence Awards.  This year Emma Balazs was honoured. Previous PGTF youth honourees included:

2003/2004 – Rob Negrin
2005/2006 – Alyx Treasure
2008/2009 – Kevin Gaiesky

Sarah Beaudry, who also trains with the club, was honoured for her achievements in the Biathlon ski competition.

Seniors – 1999 (13yr) and older  – April 3rd, Tuesday and Thursday 6-8pm, Saturday 10 am – noon.

Juniors – 2000 (12yr) and younger – April 16th – Monday & Wednesday 6-8pm, Saturday noon – 2 pm.

The membership fees will depend on a) the number of children you are signing up and b) their age.

The Prince George Track and Field Club fee is: $125 for the first child and $100 for any other children in the family.

The BC Athletics fee depends on the age of the child as outlined below.

Track Rascals fee is $15, JD fee is $60, Midget (14 yrs.) is $60, Midget (15 yrs.) is $67.20 and the youth and older is $89.60.

If you have already paid the BCA fee so that your son/daughter can do the winter training at the sports centre you do not have to pay the BCA fee again; just the PG Track fee.
